Theodoros Ballas
Theodoros was the youngest of the eight sons of Demetrius. He was chosen by his father to always remain in Greece to take care of his mother and the family property. Theodoros lived on the property where the original family home was located with his wife, Anna. He fathered eight children and did not hold any of them back from pursuing their own search for a better life. All but one of his children left for Australia with his blessing.

Theodoros made one visit to Australia in order to sponsor his last two sons so they could immigrate and join their brothers and sisters. He learned a few words of English during his short stay in Australia, and would speak them proudly whenever his English speaking family would visit.

He was a popular man in town. His long, lanky body was easily recognizable when he walked down the streets of Kiato. Theodoros resembled his brothers, John and Bill, who lived in America. Being the youngest, he was just a small child when his brothers left for America. He would have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know them.

Theodoros Ballas, died in Greece at the age of 82, with the knowledge his sons and daughters were successful in their search for a better life.
